The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program is a highly competitive program that provides Federal R&D funding to U.S. small businesses for ideas and technologies with high potential for commercialization. The SBIR program’s mission is to “support scientific excellence and technological innovation through the investment of Federal research funds in critical American priorities to build a strong national economy.” According to the Department of Defense SBIR website, “Phase III is the commercialization phase and the ultimate goal of each SBIR/STTR effort.”
Since its founding in 2002, Nokomis has demonstrated the ability to commercialize specialized products and services.
